Beyond Borders: Why Our Girls Must See the World

When young girls step beyond the borders of their everyday surroundings, something remarkable happens—they begin to see the world, and more importantly, they begin to see themselves in new and powerful ways.

This summer, our Red-Carpet Girl® mentees embarked on the International Summer Camp Experience 2025 in Nassau, Bahamas. But this was far more than a tropical escape—it was a life-expanding, perspective-shifting journey into culture, history, etiquette, diplomacy, and self-discovery. From dining with a Bahamian diplomat to experiencing local traditions like Junkanoo, our girls didn't just visit a new place—they stepped into a new version of themselves.

Many youths today grow up only knowing their neighborhoods, schools, or cities. While there's beauty in knowing your roots, there’s danger in never seeing past them. When young minds are confined to a single environment, their dreams can be limited by what they see around them. But when you introduce them to new places, customs, and conversations, you unlock a sense of possibility that no textbook can provide.

Travel isn’t just about stamps in a passport—it’s about expanding the soul.

Experiencing different cultures teaches empathy. It fosters curiosity. It inspires leadership. It gives our girls the language of global citizenship, something increasingly necessary in a world that is more connected—and more complicated—than ever.

When a young girl sees another girl, in another country, living a different life, eating different food, speaking a different language, but still laughing, learning, and dreaming—she begins to understand that the world is big and beautifully shared. She begins to dream not only for herself, but for others. That’s how change begins.
